George Mason defeated Delaware 69-49 in Colonial Athletic Association action on Monday night.

Delaware had won three-straight prior to the loss, but bounced back to beat William & Mary on Wednesday night.

Delaware has won three straight games and will face George Mason on Monday night.

Two of the wins came with shots at the buzzer and the other with a late go-ahead basket and a couple defensive stops as time was running out.

A victory would truly stamp Delaware as a factor in the league race, which reaches the halfway point tonight with all 12 teams playing their ninth games.

“Any league I’ve ever been in,” coach Monte Ross said, “that’s the formula for success . . . It just so happens that the opponent is George Mason, who is always one of the tops in the league. I think further establishing our ability to protect our homecourt is the most important thing.”
